This workshop explores the legal frameworks surrounding birth — where women’s rights, institutional systems, and lived experience meet. Drawing from her extensive legal practice, Marta Busquets will guide participants through the realities of judicial processes related to childbirth, both from technical and personal perspectives. Together, we will reflect on strategies for support and advocacy, exploring how legal understanding can empower women, protect autonomy, and strengthen community-based care.
Marta Busquets is a lawyer specialising in health law from a gender and human rights perspective. She serves as president of Dona Llum, the Catalan Association for a Respected Childbirth, and is a member of the Advisory Committee on Health Gender Policies of Catalonia.
